Disaster Knowledge, Skills, and Preparedness among Emergency Medical Services in Saudi Arabia.

Introduction: Emergency Medical Service (EMS) workers are critical to effective disaster response in Saudi Arabia. The World Health Organization requires countries and governments have prepared emergency health action plans. Therefore, it is important understand the knowledge, skills, preparedness of Arabian EMS workers. This study investigated factors influencing workers’ context. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional survey using Disaster Preparedness Evaluation Tool was distributed military government hospitals across three cities. Responses were recorded on a 6-point Likert scale where higher scores indicated or preparedness. results analyzed inferential statistical analysis. Results: 272 participated this study. reported moderate level knowledge (3.56), skills (3.44), (3.73) for disasters. Despite level, high involvement regular drills (M=4.24, SD=1.274) strong interest further education opportunities (M=5.43, SD=1.121). Participants also skill with triage principles used their workplace during (M=4.06, SD=1.218). findings revealed significant positive correlation between levels age, years experience, facility worked in.
